Tracking Technologies Declaration
emparionlux operates emparionlux.com with technologies that monitor user interactions. This document describes what gets placed on your device, what we learn from it, and how you can influence these processes.
What Gets Stored on Your Device
When you visit our financial forecasting platform, small data files land on your device. Some disappear when you close your browser. Others stick around between visits — these help us remember your preferences and maintain your authenticated session.
We also embed tracking pixels from analytics providers. These invisible elements report back on page performance and user flow patterns. And there's browser storage — both local and session-based — that we use for application state management.
Session Identifiers
Temporary markers that expire when you end your browsing session. They authenticate your access to budgeting tools and maintain form data between pages.
Persistent Storage
Data that remains on your device for weeks or months. This remembers dashboard layouts, calculation preferences, and your consent choices about tracking.
Third-Party Trackers
Files placed by our analytics and performance monitoring services. These collect aggregate usage patterns but don't identify individual users.
Why These Technologies Exist
Different tracking mechanisms serve distinct purposes in our platform operation. Some are genuinely necessary — without them, you couldn't log in or save forecasts. Others improve your experience but aren't technically required for basic functionality.
Essential Operations
Authentication tokens confirm your identity each time you access protected budget data. Form state preservation prevents data loss when you navigate between calculation pages. Security markers defend against cross-site request forgery attacks that could compromise your financial information.
Performance Analysis
We measure page load times, track feature usage patterns, and identify technical errors through monitoring scripts. This data — aggregated and anonymized — guides our platform improvements. When forecasting tools crash or load slowly for Australian users, these metrics tell us where to focus development resources.
Experience Enhancement
Preference storage remembers your dashboard configuration, default budget categories, and reporting formats. This isn't critical to platform function, but it saves you from reconfiguring settings every visit. Interface choices persist across sessions without requiring server-side profile storage.
Technology Categories and Impact
Not all tracking mechanisms carry the same weight. We categorize them by how they affect your privacy and whether alternatives exist.
Strictly Necessary
Authentication, security, and load balancing. These can't be disabled through our interface because the platform wouldn't function without them. They store minimal data and expire quickly.
Functional
Preference storage, language selection, and interface customization. Disabling these means resetting your choices each visit, but the core forecasting features still work.
Performance
Analytics, error reporting, and speed measurement. These help us optimize the platform but aren't required for your budgeting work. We collect aggregate patterns, not individual behavior profiles.
Your Control Mechanisms
You control tracking technology deployment through multiple channels. Browser settings offer the most comprehensive control — every modern browser lets you block third-party trackers, delete existing storage, or reject new storage requests entirely.
Platform-Level Choices
Visit your account settings page to adjust non-essential tracking. Toggle off performance analytics or functional preferences. These changes take effect immediately and persist across devices where you're logged in.
If you disable functional storage, your dashboard configuration resets to defaults each session. Performance monitoring can be turned off completely without affecting forecast calculations or budget management.
Browser-Based Control
Every major browser includes privacy controls. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge all support third-party tracker blocking. Private browsing modes prevent persistent storage entirely — though this also means losing preferences and staying logged in.
For granular control, browser extensions like Privacy Badger or uBlock Origin block specific tracking domains while allowing functional storage. These tools give you category-level control without breaking site functionality.
Mobile Considerations
iOS and Android devices offer system-wide tracking limitations. iOS asks apps not to track across properties. Android lets you reset advertising identifiers. While emparionlux.com doesn't use advertising trackers, these settings affect how third-party analytics services operate on mobile browsers.
Third-Party Technology Providers
We don't build all tracking technology in-house. External services handle specialized monitoring that we couldn't efficiently replicate. These providers operate under their own privacy policies — we've vetted them for Australian privacy law compliance, but you should review their practices independently.
Our analytics provider collects aggregate usage statistics. They receive anonymized interaction data but can't identify individual users or access your financial forecasts. Error monitoring services capture technical failures with contextual information — we strip out sensitive data before transmission.
Performance monitoring tracks page load times from different geographic regions. This helps optimize delivery for Australian users but doesn't create individual profiles. These services process data under contractual obligations that prohibit secondary use or sale.
Storage Duration and Deletion
Different data types persist for different periods. Session identifiers vanish when you close your browser. Preference storage lasts up to twelve months — we refresh expiration dates each time you visit, so active users maintain their settings indefinitely.
Analytics data gets aggregated within 24 hours and loses individual session identifiers. Raw logs persist for 30 days to support technical troubleshooting, then get permanently deleted. You can request immediate deletion of your stored preferences through account settings or by contacting us directly.
Manual Deletion
Browser developer tools let you inspect and delete individual storage items. Press F12, navigate to the Application or Storage tab, and clear specific domains or data types. This gives you immediate control without waiting for expiration timers.
Updates to This Document
We revise this declaration when we add new tracking technologies or change data collection practices. Major updates get announced through email to active users — minor clarifications happen without notification.
The last substantial revision occurred in January 2025 when we added performance monitoring for mobile users. Previous versions remain available through the document archive linked at the bottom of this page.
